langley, felix lucius INNOCENCE IS OUT OF STYLE
the unchanging mask NAME. felix lucius langley. he doesn't stand for anything other than his actual name.
AGE. seventeen.
GENDER. male.
CLASS. civilian.
OCCUPATION. he's currently chasing a bachelor of music, whilst part-timing as a pianist for the less important of the brack theatre company's performances. the skull beneath the skin STRENGTHS.
TRUSTWORTHY, he takes everything he's told and treats it like something top secret. Even if it's something simple, like "Oh, I had a sandwich for lunch today", he won't tell a single soul. Everything he knows is confidential, and it takes a lot to get something out of him.
HONEST, likewise, Felix isn't one to tell lies. As such. You see, he is inherently honest and believes others are like that as well. He's also quite awful at lying; he can't manage to sustain even the simplest of mistruths. Because of this, he believes others should be just as truthful, and can get quite annoyed if he's faced with anything less than the truth. It doesn't have to be the full truth, though. Because he's aware of secrets, and doesn't count simply not telling the 'whole truth' as a lie.
AMBITIOUS, he's got his sights set on immortality, and nothing is going to stand in his way. While he stands now as a simple youth ambling around the lower ranks of the racket, he has his eyes on bigger things; to live forever, and to make a name that no-one, especially his family, can ignore.
SOCIABLE, sometimes, Felix can be quite the chatterbox. He talks about whatever is on his mind, and contributes to conversations even if he has no idea what it's about. This can get pretty annoying, but you can't blame a kid for wanting to be involved in the grown-up's world. He's trying to learn how to properly have a 'conversation', but it's not as much fun as one-sided rambling. He rarely notices the fact that his constant talking is often not very welcome.
INDEPENDENT, he's learnt how to look after himself, because he's given up trusting others. If his own parents don't take the time to help their own son through life, why should he expect anything different from everyone else? No, Felix takes his life in his own hands, and refuses to accept any outside interference.
WEAKNESSES.
SHALLOW, appearances are important to Felix, and material and shallow gains are the most important in his mind. He's the type to keep emotions and the like to himself; because surely people can't be interested in such abstract ideas. Oh, he appears helpful and friendly and interested in others; but it's all about maintaining appearances, and not what's on the inside. To Felix, this isn't manipulation or tricking people in to thinking things that aren't true; to him, the only way to approach life is on a superficial, shallow level.
GREEDY, he likes to surround himself with things. Not people, with emotions and feelings; things. Often expensive or shiny things. He can be quite surly and intolerable when it comes to wanting something he can't have; a good topic to avoid if you want to see anything but a material-minded brat.
COLD, if he's not using you to talk at, chances are he's ignoring you. Felix can be quite oblivious when it comes to other people, because his world is so focused around the self; his own ideas, ambitions, goals. He's so caught up in getting the attention of his parents, he doesn't spare much thought for others and what they could be thinking. He doesn't exactly make an effort to get to know others, or to form any connections beyond the superficial. Because there's only two people he wants to be noticed by, to finally treat him with some form of affection.
CONCLUSIONS, he jumps to them. All the time.
GRUDGES, Felix isn't the type to forgive and forget. You slight him once, and he'll remember it for the rest of time. He might not do anything about it, but he might treat you with contempt rather than just straight ignoring you.
INSOMNIA, Felix hates sleep. He refuses to sleep; an insomniac by choice. But this act only leaves him vulnerable to irritability, grumpiness, and sudden onsets of snoozes. He's nearly always tired; a state that nearly everyone would agree is not a good one to be in.
LIKES.
IMMORTALITY, the idea of living forever appeals to him. He's quite concerned about mortality, about dying and not being remembered; this chance to never die quite solves that little problem.
REBELLING, Felix will do anything to get his parent's attention. Often, it ends up being quite fun; its enjoyable, as well as working towards a solid goal.
THE SUMMER, he just likes the sunshine and the brightness; he's always been more for the warmth than the cold, and despite the intolerable nature of heat and humidity in the summertime, Felix finds he quite enjoys it.
COFFEE, it's the drink of gods.
PIANO, in what he can remember as the only time his parents noticed they had a son, Felix was taken weekly to piano lessons. He decided quite early on that he loved the instrument, and playing it, and now keeps up the hobby on his own, daydreaming of a career as a soloist.
DISLIKES.
CONTACT, he believes very heavily in the idea of 'personal space', and hates being touched. He's actually afraid of close contact with others; there's no logic or reason behind it, but if he so much as brushes past another he's sure to jump back immediately in a slight state of panic.
COMMITMENT, of the relationship kind. He's a little afraid of this too; afraid of getting too close to people. Because that just leads to hope; and hope is something he detests. It always ends up being false.
STORMS, they're scary, man.
SLEEPING, it's when he sleeps, and in that time before sleep, that he realises just how alone he is. That's the time when he realises the validity of emotions and feelings; when he becomes aware of the essential human need for connections. Connections he doesn't have. He's very much alone; and you're the most alone in the depths of sleep, where no-one else can reach you, no matter how hard they try.
ARROGANCE, his parents are full of it. The people he grew up around were full of it. He can't stand it. He isn't aware that sometimes he acts incredibly arrogant; but then again, many are unaware of their own failings. the faded memory PERSONAL ITEMS. ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR, the puppeteer FACE CLAIM.
