Sometimes, a face-to-face chat isn't the best thing to be haiving; sometimes, there's a need for those fancy telephones to have a quick chat. If not, well, there's always the telegrams - you can think of them like primitive instant messaging. And then there's the secrets people want to keep a little closer to home. They should be warned, though - those little jots in their diaries can be dangerous in the wrong hands.

The Valkyrie is perhaps Brack's oldest, most expensive and most exclusive hotel. It's renown for its beauty and the excellence of its service and grounds; and also, for its Casino. The sprawling hotel stands apart and aloof from the rest of the city, stretched across the hills surrounding the city proper. It's a palace; not some cheap high-rise.

The richest of the rich can't be expected to dine at home; at least, not unless they're throwing a party. And so there's Culinary Lane; a broad, spotless street dedicated to five class restaurants and cafe's; each and every one of them with menus designed to fit the tastes of royalty.

The heights are an entirely different world to the closely packed city proper. Here the houses are large and lavish, so spaced that you can hardly see your own neighbors. Tree lined avenues, streets always shining clean; it's not hard to imagine secrets and scandals behind those high polished walls. Nothing innocent could be so overly clean.

The main street runs through the dead centre of Brack, flanked on each side by shops and tall buildings. Fronts, cafes, theatres, you name it; chances are there's one of them along the main street.

Turn off the main street, past the broken streetlight and behind a pile of crates, and you'll find yourself at the door to Drake's Speakeasy. It doesn't look like much from the outside; just a shabby suburban building. But inside, down the narrow stairs and through the smoke-filled air, is a richly decorated bar that never closes. Why not spend some time at the speak?

Every city has it's brief place of rest. That place to go to escape from everything and pretend the tall buildings don't exist. Oaks and vast lawns dominate Manner's Park, more so than the people. The park is an island of green set against the dull grey city; but it's not completely cut off from the urban filth.

The station district is rising in status in Brack; soon it will reach the same heights as the main street as a centre for commerce. The economy is boosted here by the number of businesses thriving on the pockets of those who leave the smoky trains for a life in the city.

The centre of the fairgrounds are dominated by a large tent. Or rather, several large tents; all connected to create a colossal, multi-coloured structure. There are events running almost constantly, a stream of performances, of death-defying acts all for the sake of entertainment.

The events of this circus aren't constrained to the walls of the tents; no, this portable city even has its own version of street performers, brightly costumed entertainers wandering around the areas of the grounds not dominated by tents or other circus infrastructure.

The circus can't put on a show all the time. No, in the background, away from prying eyes, lies the portable home of the performers. The public aren't allowed back here, between the caravans and the cages; they might see something... unsightly.

China Town; it's almost like a whole other world. Bootleggers galore! Sure, there are some good restaurants here... but most are fronts for organised crime and other unpleasantness. An isolated community that runs on its own sense of justice; you best be careful if you even think about walking down the streets of China Town.

Broken End is the top of a heaped pile of desperate living. These attractions aren't those the soft-spoken world would ever visit; houses of ill repute, dens of sickly sweet smoke, shops stocked to the brim with poisons and other such wares... this is a place where those who have nothing sell what they can, and those who have something buy whatever they can afford.

Not everyone an afford a swanky house on the Heights, and there are even those who can't scrape together the money to pay rent on a meagre apartment in the city. Brack's edges have grown as a sort of lower-lower class town, where most of the dwellings barely classify as buildings, and there are all sorts of ways to tap in to the abandoned underground and any other secrets the city might be hiding.
